DC – One of my fave indie acts is coming through ya tonight! Beach Fossils is playing at Red Palace and I’m super stoked. I’m still listening to their latest self-titled album from 2010, which Pitchfork described as the “quintessential Brooklyn rooftop party soundtrack.” But they just dropped a new EP this year, titled What a Pleasure, which was a bit more on the melancholy side. But whatever. The reverb is solid. Catch them tonight at 8:30PM for only $12.
DC – The 930 Club Backbar is gettin’ hella fr33ky tonight for The District After Dark!! With very special guests Fr33ky Safari (aka The Clown Prince and DJ XO of Dirty Sweaty Nasty) and resident DJ Smudge bumpin’ the latest moombahtunes, this spot’s gonna turn into some kinda fr33qt out speakeasy. Not mad. For the small price of $5, you can drink some kind of blue-colored house drink and black out tonight. Sounds good. (21+)
BALTIMORE – Stick around for the end of an era tonight. Bourbon Street is soon shutting its doors to all you ravers and party people so you better get it in at the last Dub Nation tonight! With acts like Datsik, Dieselboy, and Sluggo, I’m gonna be pretty shocked if the whole infrastructure of the building is still in-tact tomorrow.
